Traffickers Used Living Dogs To Smuggle Drugs

75 people were arrested in North Italy and Rome for force feeding bags of cocaine to hounds and slicing their stomachs open once they reached their designated delivery point. According to NYDailyNews, the suspects face charges of drug trafficking, illegal weapon possession, and criminal associatiom.

It’s assumed that the smugglers had links the South American drug cartels, and have contributed to the death of more than 50 dogs, including Great Danes, Labrador Retrievers, and Mastiffs.

Below is a picture of cocaine weighing 2.8 pounds, tightly wrapped in plastic, which were force fed to dogs that were examined after police arrived at one of the scenes.
